Department of history offers an undergraduate3yrs B.A(general) course.It was established in 1983 and M.A History (modern) was established in 2000.The core emphasis of the department is on familiarizing students with the Conceptual and applied essence of the discipline. The knowledge and skillsImparted to the students under this course empowered them in a wide array of field such as: to impart quality education in history, create interest to optfor history as a major subject in higher education, to make the students creativeAnd research oriented, to raise the standard of students to global level and make them employable, to provide a platform to the students to exhibit their talents and activities, to provide education not only to acquire knowledge but also to inculcate a sound philosophy for a holistic living, to encourage self evaluation, personality development and guide the students to strive towards perfection and competence. Department of history provides excellent teaching and learning environment with its focus on continuing education .
