ABOUT DEPARTMENT

The Department of Music offers Music Vocal as a subject at an undergraduate level. It was established in 1983. It is considered to be the most popular form of Fine Arts. There are three forms of music – vocal, instrumental and dance. Our college has provided vocal music as a subject. Vocal music is music that uses and emphasizes the human voice. Sometimes instruments are used, but the voice is the most important part. Vocal music is the opposite of instrumental music. It is a type of singing performed by one or more singers, either with instrumental accompaniment, or without instrumental accompaniment, in which singing provides the main focus of the piece. These days it is also considered as one of the therapies to cure patients mentally and emotionally. It adds oneself with aesthetics and grooms the overall personality. Maharana Pratap National college feels proud to have Music Vocal as one of the subject as this has not only brought recognition but also created great interest in students. At the time when this subject was introduced here, there were rarely colleges which had it. The students not only took this as a hobby but also performed extremely well when it comes to academic score. Not only this, it has opened the door to different job opportunities like radio, film industry, production, school / college teachers, PRO, sports, railways, electricity board and many more. Also, the students can even participate in reality shows like Indian Idol / Saregamapa etc and can even open their own academies
